The 86th annual Academy awards is taking place tonight. Known as the event where the Hollywood A-list dons their best couture and attends one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies, this yearly event is also a great excuse to have a watching party and enjoy the show.
Whether you are having a small get-together or inviting a few dozen friends, there are many creative ways to incorporate the Hollywood movie theme into your soiree. This year I’ve opted for a more simple approach centered around snacks and signature drinks.
One thing that I love incorporating into any movie-related event is popcorn. It is so simple to make and easy to customize. One great idea is to create a popcorn bar, where you have popcorn displayed in single-serving cups and have toppings to add according to your preference. Chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, Chex Mix, melted butter, and flavored salts are always crowd-pleasing options that make serving easy for you and your guests.
Another thing that I enjoy incorporating is signature drinks inspired by the Oscar nominated movies. Below I have the recipes and ingredients to get you started, feel free to adjust as needed or create some of your own as well.
